The original Alphaque.Com started out as a simple HTML page on a server of mine in 1994, then moved to a Geocities hosted community at SiliconValley, before finding a permanent home at alphaque.com running a heavily modified PHP-Nuke instance for over 7 years (1996-2003).
In its hey-day, alphaque.com used to get over 100,000 visitors a day but when I founded QubeConnect, the workload just went way through the roof and alphaque.com was discontinued.
I had thought it was better to take the site offline than to keep up a site which would surely grow stale over time. Plus, blogging had already taken off in the mainstream by then, and yet-another-me-too tech blogger was one too many.
But now, QubeConnect is safely in my past, and with time on my hands again, its time to get back to writing about the industry as well as a host of other stuff. Politics in Malaysia has taken a new twist since March 2008, and that too needs to be looked at.
Since its last incarnation however, social media services such as Facebook and Twitter have taken the world by storm. While I am active on both at facebook.com/alphaque and @alphaque on Twitter, this site will serve as a repository of longer thoughts and comments.
Hope you enjoy it, and feel free to rant and disagree in return.
